Dolphin Bay Divers has two locations: a guesthouse on Taveuni and Dolphin Bay Retreat which is next to Rainbow Reef off Vanua Levu -- Fiji’s second largest Island -- right across from Taveuni.
Your hosts, Viola and Roland have been operating Dolphin Bay since 2003. Roland, a PADI dive instructor for more than ten years moved to Fiji in 1995 when he set up his own dive operation. After they met when Viola was holidaying in Fiji – and a fairytale romance! -- Viola gave up her international consulting business and joined him in 2000.
Together they have built a unique holiday destination renowned for its spectacular diving, excellent instruction (in German or English), good food, and convivial atmosphere.
Dolphin Bay Retreat
Isolated on a secluded white sandy beach our dive resort is completely self sufficient with accommodation, bar, restaurant, and fully equipped PADI dive shop. Learn to dive or take advantage of our gorgeous location for your next romantic getaway.
Accessible only by boat, Dolphin Bay Retreat is a dream destination for divers and non-divers alike. Located minutes from legendary Rainbow Reef, divers can enjoy some of the world’s most famous dive sites such as the White Wall and spectacular marine life including turtles, sharks, soft corals and a multitude of tropical fish.
For non-divers, this is the relaxing holiday you’ve been seeking with lovely beach walks, snorkeling, kayaking, bird watching or simply swinging in a hammock.

Island Retreat
There are no discos, stores or public transport nearby. We go by dolphin time (FST+ 1 hour). Power comes from a generator and hot water from solar bags. You won’t find air conditioning or a refrigerator in your tent or bure, just the natural breeze of the ocean outside.
Your beach-front accommodation is surrounded by rainforest, coconut trees, and the ocean. There are no venomous animals here, even though the vast vegetation provides a natural habitat for mongoose, frogs, fruit bats, birds, mosquitoes, and other critters.
With a maximum of 14 guests and our own restaurant and bar, our staff will ensure your comfort and a true Fijian experience.
At Dolphin Bay Divers Retreat choose between three private bure or three safari tents. All accommodation is ocean front, only meters from the beach. There is no road or car noise, just the sounds of the rainforest and ocean waves to lull you to sleep.
Traditional Bure
Our bure are made of bamboo and hard wood in traditional Fijian style and have private bathroom facilities. For rainwater collection the roof is not made from reeds or natural materials.
Safari Tent
Be adventurous and stay in a safari tent (large room with standing head space) either with a single bed, double bed, or for the budget conscious, a shared tent with two single beds. All three safari tents share two showers and two toilets.
All accommodation is non-smoking; you are welcome to smoke outside.
